It was kind of cheesy, but a decent movie.

How can you say Ford's performance is cartoonish and say movie is so so and give it a B?? That makes no sense? Harrison Ford has never given a bad performance in his life and this maybe one of his best ever! Sooner or later you have to give thismn an Oscar!

I agree the film was good, but I don't think Ford's portrayal of Rickey was cartoonish. Rather, I think it's one of Ford's best jobs in his profession, and the scene where he explains to Robinson why he has done this is comparable to James Earl Jones explaining the people will come. This is not the greatest baseball film ever made, but it does have its shining moments.
