"Bridesmaids" is a female version of "The Hangover"--from the coarse language to the cringe-inducing grossout gags to the Vegas road trip that goes horribly wrong.

Mike Curtissaid on Sunday, February 10, 2013 7:50:54 PMI never thought there would be a movie more overrated than "Scarface". That torch has been passed to "Bridesmaids". One of the worst movies I have ever seen. I am still shocked this movie received TWO Oscar nominations. "Bridesmaids" is so bad I bet that even Ed Wood would say it sucked!
Mikesaid on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 4:49:34 PMDang, Richard. I just watched Bridesmaids last night. I honestly felt that about 95% of the jokes fell completely flat, both in terms of set-up and execution. I feel like it was one of the worst comedies I've seen in some time, despite the good cast. I was incredibly surprised to find that most other critics also gave it a mild recommendation. Was this released amidst a slew of horrible comedies? Am I crazy?
Matsaid on Saturday, July 16, 2011 1:05:31 PMIt's ridiculous to compare hangover to bridsemaids. It's your pathetic attempt to put two movies that people are getting married and smash both of them for no reason. How do they compare when one is when they are trying to figure out what happened, and the other is about a friendship that was almost lost? Think a bit further in detail when reviewing please, thanks.
Reply from Richard Roeper Oh for God's sake, it was a quick throwaway line--a line that two of the cast members invoked when I interviewed them, by the way. Think a bit further when taking things so seriously and SO literally. Best, Richard
