Envy me. I knew nothing about the plot of this film or the characters going into it. Hell of a movie experience.

Loved the first part of this, especially. Easy to sympathize with & worry about Cage. He might be performing against type, but no complaints here.

"Groundhog Day" meets "Starship Troopers". Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt are very good, but I don't think the movie deserved a "A". A "B" or "B+" maybe, but not an "A". Still, "Edge of Tomorrow" is a good and very entertaining movie.

Groundhogs Day was not the first with the plot of reliving the same day over and over again, finding out that it's happening, then trying to stop it (get out of the loop).

The first, AFAIK, was "Cause and Effect", the 1992 episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation which predates Groundhogs Day. Edge of Tomorrow is also closer to "Cause and Effect", where the inevitable conclusion is always the destruction of the whole starship and its crew.

Thanks for the great review. Thorough, yet short. It's always a pleasure.
