Wes Anderson's best movie. My personal choice for the best movie of 2012. Bruce Willis gives his best performance since "The Sixth Sense". Edward Norton gives, in my opinion, the best performance of his career (The Khaki Scouts should give Norton a Commenable.). There really is nothing negative to say about "Moonrise Kingdom". It is a truly great movie. Where's my record player?

We had avoided this one for a while, because on the surface it looked like a 'kiddie' flick, or one of the classic but dated comedic camp films.
But yes, this does hold the attention. It's a GOOD story.
Full of deadpan dialog, it invokes the funny bone, often because it sounds both ridiculous and realistic at the same time.
There's a scene where Walt's daughter is expressing her displeasure with her father depriving her of the company of her boyfriend. She makes a comment about being pushed 'too far'. It's the type of thing that looks silly on the surface, but in a slightly warped version of our already warped reality, you think,
"Well, ok. If I were THAT character, I could see myself saying or thinking something of that sort."
Thanks, Wes & Roman.
