You'll howl alright; this is the funniest movie I've seen all year. Yes, it's supposed to be a horror flick.

I'm very critical of most movies, but have to admit I really liked this one for all the reasons the critics hate it. Movie was a whodunit and mix of other tales. It's true, wasn't gory, mostly storytelling. At first I didn't like the perfection of Red Riding Hood character and backdrop of the film, but came to realize that it was done intentionally to give the viewer a higher than life feeling about the movie, a real escapist film. Psychologically one doesn't have to get numb over the killings because it's not real.

I wonder what kept if from getting an F? The fact that Gary Oldman was in it?
Reply from Richard Roeper
I try to reserve the "F" rating for films that aren't just horrible but objectionable. Torture porn, exploitation of women and children, racist, hateful, etc.

Dead on review. Abundant hair gel, Botox, and phoning it in performances. Weird touches like pseudo girl-on-girl action in a dance scene that looks like a cross between a Morris dance and the hokey-pokey. This could have been so much better (think A Knight's Tale) but the script is laughable, the direction ham-handed, and the acting ranges from servicable to wooden. Yikes! What a wet, hot mess.

Agree. Saw it today. Only eight people in theater. The movie was laughable which is so sad in every way.
