Not as good as Soderburgh's and Burns' last effort "Contagion" but I did enjoy "Side Effects" despite its flaws. Rooney Mara is a great actress. She is terrific here. Jude Law is very good as well. Their great performances help carry this movie. As I mention before, the story is flawed but I still found my self interested and engaged in the story. It held my interest until the end.

TonyDanza4Lyfe - Mar 17, 2012 You're comparing apepls to oranges. The only thing in common between those and 21 jump street is the fact that they were all television shows beforehand. I haven't seen this movie, but it clearly isn't focusing on anything from the original show other than the premise of? under cover cops going to high school. Both movies you mentioned use the same characters from their respective television shows.

Best movie of the year so far. Disagree with your conclution though. First part was preachy blah blah about the evils of antidepressants. The suprising turn of events in the second part is what made the movie special.

Spot on. Agree with everything you said.

*SPOILERS* especially the relationship at the end. It was completely contrived and pointless. Also, why would she act like she was sleepwalking when she killed her husband if nobody else was around to see it? ******

Plot holes and flaws galore, but the beginning was indeed very captivating. I'd put it more around C+.

I think the twist could have been better with Channing Tatum being the bad boy that pretends to be dead. He causes his wife to go insane with hallucinations. He is alive at the end and he and Jude Law split the money. Catherine Zeta Jones goes to jail and the wife is declared insane and locked up.
