Hey Nikki,Too many times there are just too many "no one should be waihtcng that" movies anymore. We have found a few lately, such as "The Help" (wondeful, awesome movie - you'll laugh, cry, hoot and holler) but it has been hard to find any others that were really worth anything. I am going to rent these two for out next "movie night" and I'll let you know what I think. Thanks for sharing these!

you know, you really know how to explain where these movies fail. This movie seems more like a prototype than anything else. Good job, Roeper.

roeper, you are out of your mind . this movie is better than the original! if you did not find this funny then you do not have a sense of humor, sorry.

Some of you that hate this movie make me look forward to seeing it even more today. Usually if I have nothing but negative things to say about a movie - I don't go and pay to see the sequel of that same movie. Bottom line is that it made over 100 mil in the first weekend so I'd say a few more people then you think gave it a thumbs up. I'd liked the 1st one and personally am glad they didn't change the plot - too many directors try to get too creative with changing things and ruin sequels - Jaws 3 / Halloween 3 for example. Just sayn'

These movies are just simply not funny. Perhaps if you're in high school and unaware of reality, maybe i can see that these movies show you a part of life you have not yet experienced. But as for adults, i would expect you to demand clever, intelligent, unique humor when spending your hard earned money for something. There is nothing clever or witty about the first or second of these so called "comedies".

What made the first movie so funny was that it was chaotic and (at least in my opinion) not formulaic as so many comedies are. They also took a familiar scenario and catch-phrase, "what happens in Vegas..." and pumped it up to the max. This new one is neither as chaotic (it's the same 3 guys, the same scenarios, etc.), nor as familiar (there's nothing iconic about having a hangover in Bangkok).
The irony being that the stuff that happens to them is much worse. They lose a 17 year old kid who cuts his own finger off for some reason, Phil gets shot and Stu had gay sex with a Transvestite who could very easily have given him an STD.
Stu could marry 10 Jamie Chungs and it wouldn't make up for that fate.

Great review Mr. Roeper,I agree with virtually everything you had to say about the film. They should have taken a different direction with this to show versatility; now for a third everyone will be expected the same thing yet again. Things just didn't seem well thought out, for example (**Spoilers**) no one seeming to care much that the cherished teenagers future career will be ended for no good reason (**End Spoilers**). Overall just felt like a lazy cop-out.

Your "kissing Ebert's ass" comment is pure bullshit. Did you not watch "Ebert & Roeper"? We argued about movies every week. There was no ass-kissing.
Also, I recorded my review three days before Roger posted his. So how would I know he would even bring up the photo in question?

If the 2nd one sucks so much because it is a copy of the first one - maybe you all should go back to the first one and realize that that one already sucked big time. Strange to think you could actually go even more lowbrow, lazy and more unfunny. I am afraid to think about what level of crudity is left in Phillips mindset for the 3rd.

Wow The Hangover 2 was terrible. I didn't laugh once, and all the stuff in bangkok has been done a thousand times already. It had a so-what flavour.
