Bad movie. For every laugh, a half dozen cringes as they grope for laughs out of a fat girl swearing like a longshoreman. Mr. Roeper's understanding of drama is sophisticated, his sense of comedy is not.

While I overall enjoyed the movie, I wouldn't at all call it "one of the most entertaining movies of the year." I thought it was really generic and only lifted by Melissa Mccarthy. Most if not all of the laughs came from her swearing, and after awhile that was becoming too much for me. It wasn't a very original or smart comedy, it was honestly just Melissa Mccarthy being vulgar. For that reason, I wouldn't at all put it in the same conversation as movies like 21 Jump Street.

Can't argue on this one, Richard, cause it was one of the best surprises for me too. Melissa McCarthy was every bit as good as you said she is, as is Sandra Bullock. As much as I hate the franchise mindset of Hollywood these days, I wouldn't mind another movie with these two leads......
